The Ridgefield Park Police Department Ceremonial Honor Guard was formed in 1990 under the guidance of Chief Walter Grossmann and was comprised of seven members of the Department. The dedicated officers of RPPD Ceremonial Honor Guard, represents the Department with pride and respect. The Honor Guard routinely participates in parades, funerals and various ceremonies. The Honor Guard has appeared in numerous ceremonies at the local, county, state and federal level. The honor Guard has represented the Ridgefield Park Police Department at the Bergen County and New Jersey Police Memorial Services. The Honor Guard has been an annual participant in the National Law Enforcement Memorial Services in Washington D.C. and has played a role in services on the steps on the US Capital. The Honor Guard currently has a total of eight members.
