Nixle and Swiftreach
The police department is currently using 2 different types of community outreach to inform residents with information ranging from critical alerts to community news. It is important that residents sign up for both platforms since different information will be sent using different platforms. We encourage all residents to sign up so that you can be kept updated with important information.
Nixle is a text message (SMS) or email based notification system. This system can be used to send out critical information such as traffic alerts, safety tips, and local crime information. By simply sending a text message (SMS) with the Ridgefield Park zip code (07660) to 888777 you are instantly registered to receive text messages from any participating agency in the Ridgefield Park area. By visiting www.nixle.com you can create an account and customize exactly what information you want to receive and how you want to receive it – via text message (SMS), email, mobile application, or web browser.
SwiftReach is a phone based system where the system will call you on a phone either cell phone, land line or both. You will then hear a pre-recorded message with important/critical information. This system is normally used for weather emergencies but can be used for other situations where direct instructions are needed. You can sign up for SwiftReach by completing the form below. If you are already receiving reverse 911 phone calls you do not need to complete the form below unless you want to add an additional phone line.
